This will be the first full week that Rick will be in therapy at Sacred Heart. Unless there is a huge breakthrough, I probably won't be updating you daily at this point.
He will be having multiple types of therapy many times each day. Thursday the staff will be meeting with Rick's family to give them a prognosis and a tentative recovery date. It won't be a certain date etched in stone, it will be a date that they can try to determine, from his progress for the first week.
We went to visit him Sunday night and he's about the same. He still doesn't know who we are and doesn't hold a conversation with us, but he's talking the entire time. He is playing simple card games with Mary (like War) and recognizes most of the card values. He is also putting together puzzles with shapes and color and can name many of the shapes.
Dale called Rick on his birthday and after a few times he figured out how to open his phone and answer it. The conversation was mostly one sided, but after they hung up, Rick hit the re-dial and called back. He was in "work mode" and was calling about parts again.
He's been working really hard....
